Ao Sane Beach

Ao Sane Beach is a small secluded 200 metre strip on the west coast of Phuket, a fifteen minute walk from Nai Harn Beach. It can be accessed by driving through a tunnel below The Royal Phuket Yacht Club that lies at the northern end of Nai Harn Beach. Heading over the hill there is a small parking area from where you can amble down to the beach.

The beauty of Ao Sane Beach is its hidden away location that is not on the normal tourist trail and as such is never too crowded. Often referred to as a ‘Secret Beach’, Ao Sane comprises three small rocky bays and is as tranquil as you can find on Phuket.

The clear turquoise waters around Ao Sane Beach, teeming with exotic marine life are ideal for swimming, snorkeling and diving. It is a beautiful secluded place to relax and sunbathe and there is ample shade given by the many trees lining the beach.

The nearest hotel is the charming Baan Krating Phuket Resort that overlooks the glittering ocean and has a unique jungle setting. The resort, set back on a hillside, has sixty five detached and semi-detached villas, swimming pool and a restaurant offering Thai and international cuisine.

There is a cheerful and friendly restaurant on Ao Sane Beach that serves good food, throughout the day and night, at reasonable prices and has a very laid-back atmosphere. A short walk or drive into Nai Harn offers a wider choice of dining on the beach, shops, bars, traditional Thai massage boutiques and convenience stores.

Ao Sane is the perfect getaway spot from the hustle and bustle of the larger Phuket beaches, yet close enough to enjoy the benefits of a fun night out in nearby Kata, Rawai or Nai Harn.
