Nai Harn Beach & Lake

Nai Harn Beach is particularly appealing to both locals and tourists alike. Easily accessible by road with ample parking. Until recently it was over populated with sun loungers and umbrellas for rent but since the crackdown in 2014 these have been removed so you are faced with a wide stretch of very fine, soft sand to sunbathe and relax on. Unspoilt and nestled between the coastal hills, fringed by tiny islands it is a far cry from the larger West coast Beaches of Kata, Karon and Patong, giving you the opportunity to enjoy Phuket without the overcrowding and general distractions. There is plenty of room for everyone!

Great for swimming and snorkelling during high season* with lifeguards in attendance. You are also able to hire sea kayaks. The Southern end is crossed by a stream fed by the artificial lake on the other side of the road. Here the younger kids can splash about and it is easier for you to keep an eye on them. The bay is sheltered offering safe harbour to many boats, from small dinghies to super yachts which you can paddle around on your kayak or swim up to and dream!

The small settlement directly behind Nai Harn beach gives you the opportunity to browse the local thai handicrafts, grab yourself a soothing massage or sample some local cuisine - Penang Curry, Massaman Curry, Pad Thai Noodles, whatever grabs your fancy, it is all there.

There is even a picturesque little temple behind you, Wat Nai Harn and the once natural, now artificial Lake offers a lovely stroll onto the wooded island at its centre where you can hire paddle boats or picnic in the trees. This lake is also a favourite for early morning and evening jogging for those keep fit fanatics… a safe, flat and fairly short circular run.

Nai Harn Beach Accommodation

We have a good selection of holiday villas and apartments which are either within walking distance or just a short drive away… warning, they book up fast! It is also an area very popular with those who wish to come and live on Phuket, quiet and out of the way yet within easy reach of gyms, shops and some fantastic restaurants such as DaVincis, Rum Jungle, The Islander Pub, M&M’s (Maggie & Mario’s Italian Restaurant) amongst many others.

*Please note that at Nai Harn beach along with all other Phuket beaches entering the sea during low season is NOT recommended, strong currents and rip tides make them dangerous, even to strong swimmers.
